17-06-1991 - Dy.Union Health Minister had confirmed the chairman, NEHM of India regarding authorization stating therein “I have authorised NEHM of India for promotion, development & research of electropathy in India”.

20.06.2003 - Directorate of Health services, Govt. of NCT of Delhi in correspondence with union health ministry, govt. of India has issued notification in light of the observation of hon’ble delhi high court duly  confirmed by hon’ble supreme court of india that NEHM of India may issue diploma/certificates & holders of such diploma/certificates obtained from NEHM of India are entitled to practise electropathy system of medicines as stated in the order FAO No. 205/92 dt. 18-11-1998.

25-11-2003 - Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has issued an order No. R.14015/25/96-U& H(R) (Pt) for unrecognized medical systems.

According to this order, Institutions under Central/State do not award any degree/diploma’s in unrecognized stream of medicines. But it has been allowed to make clinical practice either registered medical practitioner or by appropriate trained persons through Certification programs.

As far as electropathy is concerned, Allahabad High court has ordered that one should not look at 25-11-2003 order alone, it should also be read in conjunction with 05-05-2010 order.

05-05-2010 - Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India has issued an Policy decision order in No.V.25011/276/2009-HR stating that,

  1. Letter D.O. No. 2921/DM (H & FW)91/VIP dt 17-06-1991 from Dasai Chowdhry, Dy. Minister of H & FW, which states that “I have authorized N E H M of INDIA for the Development Promotion & Research of electropathy in India”.

  2. In accordance with Orders of the High Court & Supreme Court quoted here, that there is no proposals to stop the petitioners (NEHM of India) from practicing in electropathy or imparting education.

  3. NEHM, as per the document submitted by them is conducting diploma/certification courses. 4. 25-11-2003 order does not bar the development & research of electropathy.

  4. Once the legislation to recognize new system of medicine is enacted, any practice or education would be regulated in accordance with said act.

21.06.2011 - Ministry of Health, Govt. of India vide another order No. C.30011/22/2012-HR dt. 21-06-2011 has sent the policy decision dt. 05-05-2010 to Health Secretaries of all the states including UT’s stating therein that the orders dt. 25-11-2003 & 05-05-2010 would be treated as instructions of the Govt. of India related to practice, education & research with regard to alternative system of medicine like electropathy / electro homoeopathy etc.

            Note : One should not look at 25-11-2003 order alone, it should also be read in conjunction with 05-05-2010 order.
